After the fasting of Ramzan, Eid is the most awaited occasion among Muslims from across the world. They make special arrangements for this big and holy day. Eid is the day of distribution and spreading pleasure and gladness among the society. How can we perform the Eid Day and what’s our obligations regarding this day, let us see below?

Blessing of Allah on Eid Day

The Eid festival is famous for spreading joy and happiness all over the Muslims societies. This day itself is a blessing from our Creator. They celebrate this day on 1st Shiwal, after the month of Ramzan. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also celebrates this day with great spirit. According to Hazrat Anas (R.A),

Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) came to Madinah, the people had 2 days in which they used to amuse and please themselves. He questioned, what are these two days? They said we used to entertain ourselves and take desire in these two days during the Days of Unawareness. The Prophet of Allah said Allah has relieved for you slightly better than these two, the Eid of Azha and the Eid of Fitr.”

Eid ul Fitr Muslim’s Obligation

There are some important Eid ul Fitr Muslim’s Obligation regarding this Day,

Eid Prayer

Offering the Eid prayer is an important obligation on this day. It’s our Prophet’s (PBUH) Sunnah. He wears new clothes, uses good fragrance, tastes a sweet dish, offers the Eid prayer and meets the Eid with Sahaba’s after prayer. According to Hadith,

“I pleaded with the Prophet of Allah the 2 Eid prayers more than once or twice, without an Azan or Iqamah.” (Muslim)

Charity or Zakat

Another main thing is to give the charity to the poor and needy. Zakat is obligatory on those who are financially strong or have an extra amount of money, gold, land, etc. We should pay Zakat and other Sadqah’s between the Fajr and Eid prayer.

So, make your Eid memorable, just performing the necessary obligations and responsibilities.
